Yallah Dance Studio was the brainchild of Zahra Gamal who, before starting the venture, asked Sherihan Jabir to co-found the studio with her. The founders agreed that their goal was to pass on knowledge and technique of classical and modern Egyptian style dance, maintaining the traditions of how they themselves were taught by their teachers and making this beautiful dance form accessible to EVERYONE.
Regardless of a student's personal goals in taking classes at Yallah, (and every student comes in with a different goal!) each class is taught with the intention of preserving the dance in its highest form through examination of traditional rhythms and the folkloric steps associated. There is also the utmost attention to safety through detailing of proper technique.
